Septembre Musical Montreux-Vevey Festival
As part of the cultural heritage of the Swiss Riviera for more than 70 years, the September Musical Festival offers prestigious concerts in the grandiose places of the shores of Lake Geneva. Thanks to its international renown, the cultural event attracts musicians and spectators from around the world every year.
A window on the world
Mischa Damev’s arrival at the head of the festival as the new Artistic Director has opened a new era. Under his leadership, the festival will showcase a different country every year. The country’s culture will be celebrated in all forms. Through classical music, of course, with its musicians, orchestras, composers or soloists, but also its traditional music, cuisine and visual arts: a sum of new experiences that the festival intends to offer to its audience as from 2019 onwards.
The first window opened by Mischa Damev for this 74th edition will offer a breathtaking view of Russia. The festival will take place from September 1 to 9, 2019 in different venues:
- At the Stravinsky Auditorium of the 2M2C in Montreux
- At the famous Castle of Chillon in Veytaux
- At the Temple Saint-Martin and the Reflet-Theater in Vevey
The 2019 programme
Mischa Damev has programmed established artists among the best in Russia, such as the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra under Valery Gergiev or the Russian National Orchestra. He has also chosen to highlight young prodigies, true geniuses such as the Glinka Choir, the participants of the Nutcracker project or the break-dancers of the Reverse show.
