Fairmont Le Montreux Palace, Montreux

Rolando Villazón, recitation
Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, violin
Maximilian Kromer, piano

Mozart loved writing letters just as much as he enjoyed composing music. His correspondence with family and friends amounts to thousands of handwritten pages! The tenor Rolando Villazón, Artistic Director of the Salzburg Mozart Week, will read (in French) a choice of letters in the course of this chamber music concert. The young Viennese violinist Emmanuel Tjeknavorian will perform Mozart's sonatas on an instrument produced for the composer in 1764 by an Italian violin maker.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791)
Sonata for piano and violin in G Major K 301
Sonata for piano and violin in C Major K 303
Sonata for piano and violin in E Minor K 304
Sonata for piano and violin K 380 (1st movement)

Emmanuel Tjeknavorian will play on Mozart’s original violin made by Pietro Antonio Dalla Costa (1764)
