Tchaïkovski / Prokofiev / Rimski-Korsakov

Daniel Lozakovich is an astonishing young violinist barely out of his teens, who already has the musical world at his feet. Born in Stockholm, Lozakovich made his concert debut in 2009 with the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra under Vladimir Spivakov. In 2015, he gave his first concert with Valery Gergiev and since maintains a close artistic partnership with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra. His performance in Montreux with Gergiev and his St. Petersburg-based musicians will therefore almost be "a family gathering". Gifted with an amazing technique and an astonishing maturity, the young virtuoso will have the opportunity to give the full measure of his talent in Prokofiev's elegant Violin Concerto Nº 2, a piece of "great music accessible to a wide public" according to the composer himself. Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov probably didn't think otherwise of their respective works when composing Romeo and Juliet, Fantasy Overture based on Shakespeare, and Scheherazade, Symphonic Suite inspired by The Thousand and One Nights.

Sergueï Prokofiev (1891-1953)
